Kraftin Kimmie/One Crazy Stamper Snow Globe

Hi all and a VERY Happy Holidays to everyone!  I love that Cinderella is so wintery!  Fits right into our challenge (you only have a week left--at the top there is a link for you to join in).
I made a snow globe off of a tutorial on splitcoast.  this was my VERY FIRST one so it was a lot more cutting then I am used to but still pretty easy to follow along.  I used Design paper from Basic Grey and I used circle Nestabilities.  I also colored her with copics (I know, surprise, surprise :) )  I will keep this short today so you can all enjoy time with your families!!!

Cinderella running from the ball....

Ever since I saw this Kraftin Kimmie Cinderella stamp at One Crazy Stamper I wanted her to move....It just felt like she had to.  I colored her with copics and watered down some shimmery paint and painted her dress so it sparkles a lot in person.  The trees are stamped with some unknown tree stamp I had in my stash and I used a white pin and stickles (Icicles) to make it look snowy.  I also used stickles on the makeshift paper hill.

Here is the basic picture head on.
Here is a picture when she is all the way to the left and she can spin and move just by pushing her.
Here she is moved into the middle
Here she is all the way to the right.

This is my first spinner card and it was fun and super easy to do!  I loved how she moves and think this is a great interactive card!  She wasn't that hard to cut around either.  Her neck is very thin and started to get flimsy and I was worried about it ripping so I took the stickles and put it on the back of her neck in a thick line and let it dry and that seemed to be a pretty good/quick/easy fix to give her neck some strength.

Don't forget about the challenge going on until the end of the month!  Christmas/Winter themed!  I think Cinderella fits right in!

Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge AND CPS Sketch

Hi all!

Well this card was HARD....you know those cards that fight you the whole way and make you want to just throw it away and start from scratch!  That is how this card was!!!  I really wanted to play along with the Paper pretties challenge since I haven't been able to in a while!  Plus they were also sponsoring CPS sketches this week.  I think it was the sketch that threw me off!  But I did have time to get crafty so I tried anyways!  I have a stack of stuff to share since I have had some awesome inspiration over the last couple of days!

Non Stamping Post---A little break

Hi to all of my stamping friends.

I haven't posted for a few weeks and I plan on taking another week for a break.  I recently found out a close friend of mine (we met in 9th grade) has been diagnosed with cancer.  She found out 2 weeks before her 30th birthday.  This is hitting me so hard cause we are the same age and if there is one person that knows soooo much about me (good and bad) it would be this lady!  My heart is breaking for the pain she is going through.  I am trying to do what I can to be a good friend but I wish I knew what to do to be the best friend I could be.

I will hopefully be back soon but with everything that has been going on it is hard for the creativity to get going.

Thanks for understanding!

Crafty Snail

I tried the technique that I see a lot over on Nicol Heady's blog. Which is to put scor tape in a strip and place your glitter over it. Super fun!

I love this snail!!! Super fun to paper piece!!

Merman Ian

This is a digital image of Ian that is colored with copics. I tried to make his hair streaky since he is a merman! Also, his tail (?) is colored with 2 different copic colors and then with the colorless blender I made it look like fish scales. it is really hard to tell in the photograph and honestly no photograph I could take did it justice. It does look cool though!

bunny in a pot!

This adorable bunny is so fun to color! Have I told you how much I love this guy? This is for a challenge over at Crafty sentiments. We were supposed to use embossing. I heat embossed the flowers and then ran the embossed strip through my cuttlebug to double emboss. I of course used my copics to color him.

Sketch challenge

I LOVE the new stampin up colors. I wasn't sure I did until I started playing around with them. I of course colored Amy with copics. This was for a sketch challenge and usually I am no good at them but I am starting to think out of the box a little bit. usually I would have just thrown paper where the ribbon is because that is following the sketch. I really liked how this card turned out!

Bubble Bunny

I love this 3-D diarama box and it was so different then anything else I have ever made. I used the bubble bunny flopsy from My Favorite Things
This is a sentiment I made myself and printed out on whisper white and used nestabilities to cut it out. I thought it would be perfect for this!
This is how it looks when you are looking dorectly in.

Mothers day in August?

Ok so I am a lot late in posting this! this was another sample of the make and take we did in April. Just in time for Mothers day! SO much fun!!!

I used pebbles shimmer chalks which are fabulous. Sad story about those same chalks is on the drive home they were destroyed by bad packing! the slipped out of my bag and when I opened the door they were all crumbled and smooshed and fell out of my door. UGH!! I saved what I could but still would like to replace them! I also used the Messages for MOM set and the medallion background from stampin up.

Purple friends

Purple is one of my favorite colors and it just screams spring to me!!! I don't have many light purples now that I have gotten rid of all of my retired paper! Hopefully I will enjoy the darker shade of purple as much! I love Amy!!! I can not say that enough! Suzette is doing some great stuff with her!

My Favorite Bunny

I don't think I have shown this card and I created it a few months ago (shame on me!!!) This card was for a past guest designer challenge over at My Favorite Things. I used bubble bunny to try to make a masculine card. I actually sent this card to my grandpa for his birthday! This card has a lot of shimmer on it which I think is one of my favorite things to add to most of my cards....the quickest way to add shimmer is the shimmery SU acrylic paint added to a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol....It turns it into a something close to glimmer mist! then you just spray the paper and let it dry and it dries super fast and just leaves the shimmer behind!

Dancing Queen

This is an older card that I made awhile back but I never posted! I am finding too many of those lately!

You can tell how old this is cause my maiden name is in the watermark :) This was one of the first cards I did using copics! This was over a year ago so it is hard for me to name the other special stuff used!

Stampin' Bella Challenge

I LOVE stella.....she was one of those stamps I HAD to have. I colored her with my copics and used a fun glitter pen to color her wand, crown, olive and shoes. This follows a fun sketch from paula over on the Friday Stamping Bella challenge. I had the hardest time with this sketch. I wasted SOOOOO much paper making this one card.
This sentiment is from verve and I think it fits this image perfectly!!!! I also tried using some crazy stitching.

One of those days

This was one of those stamps that as soon as I saw it I HAD to buy it! I made this over a year ago when I first purchased copics. I am finding a lot of cards that were never posted on my blog. You may see some oldie but goodies sprinkled among my new creations. at least you can see how much I have evolved!

I love this sentiment from Verve stamps! Isn't is SO true! sometimes there will be days like this!

Another attempt....crossing my fingers

Stamping Bella was my first non stampin up purchase. and that was at the beginning if this addiction...uh I mean hobby ;) I have loved everything Em has done with her company and she is at the top of my list of stampin' babes I HAVE to meet. You know that question where you have to pick people you would have to a dinner party and it can be anyone dead or alive.....Well one of mine is Em. Just reading her blog you know she would be a blast to have at the dinner party, especially after this sistah keeps topping off her wine glass!

I was overjoyed when I found out that Em was hosting her first EVER open design team call! Well part of it is you have to enter all of the August challenges. Easy Peasy..right?

Well this weeks was to add bling. Sounded simple enough...umm 3 cards later that just weren't enough and this was the best out of the three! UGH! It is not my favorite work I have ever done but I still think it turned out all right.....just not my best work....I am ready to jump in to see what the next week has in store. I am hoping with my birthday being at the end of the month that will be some added luck for me....

I love daisyboardabella!!! She is fierce :) I also had some basic grey eskimo kisses still in my stash and I love that Wild wasabi matches perfect. For the bling I added martha stewert snow glitter under her boots and dew drops in the corners.

I feel like a contestant on American Idol....."This means the world to me and this is my dream" and I am holding up 2 fingers and Ryan is telling everyone to call to vote for me! :) Stay tuned for more bella goodness!!! I am in a goofy mood as I am posting this so excuse the rambling!

Another challenge

I think I am becoming a bit of a challenge addict!!!!

One of my favorite stores to buy all kinds of crafty goodies is 7 kids college fund! I love this store!!! I usually buy my Kraftin kimmie and The greeting farm stamps there (that is when I am not doing an order for all that scraps). 7 kids has such a large selection of just about everything you would want to own. Recently they have started a new challenge blog. Since it incorporated 2 of my favorite things (pink and dots) I HAD to make time to play.

This image is available over at 7 kids college fund. My dots is the Swiss dot cuttlebug folder on the background and the pink is just about everywhere. I also used pearl dots! And some pretty pink shimmerz on her dress and flowers. I love Anya because she is SO much fun to color. I colored her with my copics!

Paper Pretties Challenge

I have been a fan of Paper pretties since I first started stamping. That was about 4 years ago and that was also when the very first Sophia stamp came out (cuddle me). Recently, paper pretties changed hands and has a new owner, My old Firecracker Design Team member Heather! I am so happy for her new adventure and wholeheartedly support this endeavor!!!!!! It does help that I am HOPELESSLY addicted to Sophia and anything that has her connected to it :)

So the pretties Wednesday challenges are continuing and I am down to the wire!

I used make a splash Sophia! I am LOVING using my sewing machine on my cards. I received it as a gift from my mom last Christmas and I NEVER have sewed before! So I am learning and my stitches are getting straighter!!! So Jodi over on Confessions of a ribbon addict has this great Q&A about sewing on cards. She recommends this thread that is XP super thick and it is sold at Joann's. Well I have thread from Wal-mart and I was Leary if there really was a difference. OMG their is! if you look closely at the card you will notice I actually made this card in pieces over a few days. the larger square (card base) was stitched with my wal-mart thread and the circle and smaller thread was stitched with my new super thick thread.....can you see how much brighter and thicker it looks!

Bella's are lookin' for a sistah!!!! Pick me!

Ok so Stamping Bella is looking for a new stampin' sistah to join the ranks....was I ever soooo excited for that oppurtunity!!!! That is on my goal list cause I love me some stamping bella. last weeks challenge was for paper piercing. I paper pieced the baloons and colored the image with copics. I also sponged the edges with memento ink. I love this thick satin ribbon that I have owned forever but just opened! OK I will be hitting the craft room tomorrow to work on this weeks challenge which is getting blingy!

Daffodil Anya

I am loving the greeting farm stamps. I am a huge fan of anya...which is really funny considering I wasn't a huge fan at first....then I got my hands on them and OMG converted!!!! They are amazing to color and add to ANY project!!!! I love the sketch challenge they recently had! usually not a huge fan of sketches cause I am horrible at getting creative with them but these sketches brought the creative person out!!!

I have been dieing to make a black and yellow card since I saw daffodil delight. Yellow and Black are REALLY in right now! this was soooo much fun to make! I used the new stampin up daffodil delight and the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. I used copics to color and shimmerz for the dresses and to paint the white primas the shimmery coal color and put clear dew drops in the flower center.

I entered the challenge here

Retreat Easil

In April my friend Candice and I hosted a stamp retreat. It turned out wonderful! We had 10 wonderful attendees and we rented a fabulous 7 bedroom house in Grass Valley, California. We held 3 fabulous make and take classes and I had so much fun designing them and hosting the classes! Here is one of the make and takes we did!

This is the front of the easil card we made. I used the new stampin up set Awash with Flowers. it was a lot of fun to use!

Monochromatic Kraftin Kimmie

OK...Have I had the chance to GUSH about how much I absolutely adore, love, cherish Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! ESPECIALLY the Moonlight Whispers collection. I was lucky enough to make a large purchase from all that scraps and honestly I need to make another purchase to get all of the NEW release!!!! OK so this weeks challenge was to make a mostly monochromatic card. This was so much fun to do!

When Stampin up released their new colors I was on the fence...until I started playing with marina mist!!! That has to be my favorite new color....of course I am shocked how much I LOVE daffodil delight as well!

Ok here is my card:

I colored the image with copics and used memento ink. I stitched using my sewing machine and the paper is SU: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue.

Hope you like it!!! Visit Kraftin Kimmies Blog to enter your own card!

Going somewhere MFT style

This was a project I had made for a MFT guest designer challenge. This was fun and was different then anything I had made before. I colored this with copics and used my scorpal to create.
This is how the project looks when it is completely closed. It encloses into a box.
