bubble bella

When we buy a house my only BIG requirement is a bath tub that I can take bubble baths in.....is it any reason I love this bella. I used some crystal effects for the bellas and love how it looks. this is using the tempting turquoise design paper and I am so excited it retired.....I was going to order some but it already went out of stock :(

I used the sketch challenge on my WRAK group over on splitcoast. that was where I received the paper from as well.

Well I purchased my first paper trey ink stamp set and I had to play!

I used my new Martha Stewart inks. I am loving pigment inks and love using them with both clear stamps and rubber ones! the impression is so crisp!

Over on Splitcoast in the member company forum for Gina K there is a sketch challenge contest....I of course had to participate because a new Gina K set is on the line!

here is what I came up with!

If you can't tell I am in love with paper piecing this adorable dress! I made a boo boo but quickly fixed it using my word punch!

I have also received my new paper pretties stamps so I will be playing with those soon!

Christopher Titus

Well last night I saw Christopher Titus at a local comedy club. I love this man. he is hilarious and can make you laugh at the most awful things! We went with my boyfriends parents, my mom, aunt and a couple that we hang out with. it was a blast!

I even had my picture taken with him and got an autographed signed t-shirt!

I love ice cream

Every time I try to diet or eat healthy there is one thing I never even think about giving up. That is Ice Cream. I love it! If I am going healthy I may do frozen yogurt or sugar free ice cream but it is always there. my favorite is either rocky road from dryers or chunky monkey from Ben and Jerry's!

When MFT came out with a set called here's the scoop I knew I HAD to have it! I haven't played with it too much but i did get some ink on it last weekend. this is what I came up with. I even used brights which is really NOT my usual color choice. I used prismacolor and gamsol to color in. I also used the ginger blossom design paper to paper piece the chair in the picture. Hope you like!

celebrating in style

I absolutely love paper piecing! it is fun and easy....sometime just a little time consuming. this DP is from a local scrap book store. one side of it is the color of the dress and the other is the actual main background. I even used some of my new metallic paste around the embossed edges.....this can be purchased from Gina K and it just adds that little extra oomph. I am thinking this will be a great card for my future Mother in Law. She is turning 50 next month and not looking forward to it!

My favorite things.

This card ended up being Nick's birthday card! I masked the building and used my brayer to do the sky using bashful blue and brilliant blue ink. I used markers to color the building and prismacolor and gamsol for the sun. I just love the sentiment for this stamps set!

Back to stamping

Asela, one of the wonderful stamp creators for Gina K.'s stamp line has a wonderful stamp set called Botanical Dreams. It is so versatile and can be used to so many ways. She recently posted a challenge getting us all ready for the next Gina k release which will start this week ( a little later then usual due to those lucky ducks being at CHA in Chicago). This was the card I created using her sketch for her challenge. I used the technique I learned on Gina K.'s blog (crayon resist) I used my new Martha Stewart inks I recently purchased at wal-mart. I am trying to get rid of the rest of my 08 in colors cause I don't have much left and not sure it is wise to keep it. I also used white ink with another one for the stamps on the soft sky paper. the vanilla ribbon is basic ribbon from Michael's. the dream sentiment is also from the stamp set!

Was so worth it though! I am spending this weekend relaxing and doing some much needed stamping. I will see you all monday and have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Nick! (non-stamping post)

Today my boyfriend turns 26! I love birthdays and love to make sure they are extra special. I feel mine should be a national holiday so I usually go a little overboard with birthdays! We are planning on a nice dinner together at Olive Garden (one of our favorite restaurant) then doing cake and ice cream with both of our families. About a week later we will really do the celebrating and I am taking him to go see one of his favorite comedians Christopher Titus (from the old fox TV show Titus). We are going with family and friends so there will be a fairly large group of us (about 15). He doesn't normally get to do a lot of fun stuff because he has been working so many extra shifts so we can buy a house. I hope this is a special birthday for him and that he has fun! Oh and just in case your wondering....he received his gift a few weeks early. he got a 55 gallon fish tank and stand and some fish......we now have 3 fish tanks set up.....that of course is a whole other blog post :)

Here are some of my favorite pics:

This is us at a family friends wedding reception! I love getting him to dress up and looking all nice!

Nick would of course kill me if he knew I was putting this picture up. This is him first thing in the morning playing his guitar. He is so talented and there is nothing sexier then a guitar player:)

This is us on our first trip we took together. We did a three day weekend in Reno and stayed in this beautiful suite that had one of those huge jet bathtubs in the room. it was heaven. I probably took 5 baths in 3 days just cause it had jets!

Happy rock

This was a super easy card. I used the DP from stampin up, and river rock paper. I also had vanilla ribbon from Michael's and wanted just a nice general sentiment so this could be used for anything.

Sassy Day

I bought this retired set from a fellow splitcoast stamper and I love it! I also used to different pieces of design paper and covered the cut with vanilla ribbon. The image was colored with markers and I used primas with rhinestone brads from Michael's

Gina K.

I bought this stamp set about 2 weeks ago and used it to do the technique that Gina did on her blog. I had never tried the crayon resist technique. I used the bashful blue and brilliant blue combo. The flower was stamped on whisper white using black staze-on. I then used a white crayon and colored in some/most of the petals. I then took a sponge and covered the entire piece of paper with the bashful blue and then used the brilliant blue to accent it. I then took a paper towel and rubbed over where I had the crayon and the ink came off.

Gina K Sketch Challenge

This is a card I made using Gina K's Owl always love you stamp set. I t was n my mailbox Thursday night and it was trimmed and inked Thursday night. I absolutely love her stamps and I have 3 more sets to trim so I can use them all. You may be Gina k'd out this month :) Oh and just to warn you I received my MFT order today as well so that is 3 more stamp sets that need some love.....and I checked UPS and my stamping bella order should be here on Tuesday......July was my splurge and enjoy it while it last month. There will not be another month like this until December :)

Ok So onto the card. I really like how this turned out and was happy cause it just clicked. Dontcha love when that happens. of course I colored with my OMS. Would I color with anything else!

Unless inspiration strikes and I am struck by genius (or Gina, pretty much one and the same) I may use this for my darling boyfriend's 26th birthday this upcoming Wednesday. We'll be the same age for a whole month and a half before I turn back into the older woman. He loves to joke that I robbed the cradle.

Hope you all are haveing a creative weekend and enjoy the card!
