Fairy Tale Bug

Hi All,

Oh wow is it super busy!  School starts on Monday for me and textbooks are NO joke!  Plus I have been redoing my stamp room/office/study area and I have ikea boxes all over my house!  Hopefully it will look how I am picturing in my head!  I am realizing how much craft stuff I do have though!

I used fairy tale bug on my card today because school is definitely on my mind.  I wanted to color him different and used all kinds of colors on him.  Of course I used my copics.

I kept it really simple with some twine!

Enjoy!

Fall Colored Chloe

Hi All,

Have you ever colored an image and absolutely LOVED how it turned out???  I did and look at her!  I love how the shading of her hair turned out!  I used Chloe by Elizabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps.  I stamped her using memento black and colored her with my copics.  I used Blossom Nestabilities and cut her out and with the image still in the nestie I sponged some memento green ink around the edges to give it a little depth.  I paper pierced around the edges (HUGE tip is to adhere ALL of the top layers together--not the base--and paper pierce through there and then use pop dots so you don't squash your pokes)

Have a great week!

Party Girls

Hi All,

I used the super cute Party Girls from Art Impressions.  Usually I am overwhelmed with larger images because I always have trouble getting nice, clean, crisp impressions.  Boy was this a no brainer!  A perfect impression the FIRST time!  Plus these girls are super fun to color!  I love using copics and this was a fun image.

Hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful week!

Flame Broilin Tutorial

Hi All!

I have a FUN and EASY tutorial for you today!  I love this adorable High Hopes image called Flame Broilen.   I knew as soon as I saw this image I wanted to use foil.  As in aluminum foil for cooking!  I figured since it is so flexible it would probably hold a shape!

I started by stamping my image as I usually do.  If I am coloring with copics I ALWAYS use Memento Black.  Never, ever, ever smears!

 Here is my image colored.

Here are the copics I used.

I have used foil before and I like to use heavy duty because the shape stays better.

I usually just rip a sheet off then I place in my embossing folder (you can use ANY embossing folder-I have not tried an impression plate so since that is a lighter impression I am not sure how that will work).

Once it is embossed I gently trim the edges in my table top trimmer.  DO NOT push down very hard because you can flatten the shape right out!

I don't use my tape runner on the foil but I do use glue dots on the paper I am attaching it too.  I also used a brad this time to keep my place.  I used some of the cool new brads that the store carries!  They look like screws!

Once everything is attached I completed the rest of my card!  Isn't this a cool effect and super awesome for the men!  A very cheap way to make your own patterned paper too cause a 50 foot roll was only a few dollars!
I hope you enjoyed and I can not wait to see what everyone makes!  If you use this tutorial definitely link in the comments I would love to see what you have done!

Loves Challenge Day!

Hi All,

It has been a tad quiet around here!  The big reason is I have been pretty sick for over a month now.  I have had barely enough energy to keep up with my design team requirements and actually didn't even post last week!  I even did the ER and doctors last week and both of those are huge cause I never, ever, ever go!  Long story short they are unsure exactly but I was told I had gall bladder issues and a gastrointestinal virus that is floating around.  I am starting to feel a little better and I think the biggest reason is with how sick I was feeling I still participated in a 10k walk/run yesterday to support The San Francisco Aids Walk and my friends team: Team Proctor.  It was brutal and doing that with flu like symptoms was T-O-U-G-H but I woke up today and I felt a huge difference so maybe my body needed to sweat out all the yuck!

OK enough about feeling sick although Loves owner, Laura, commented that my card for this weeks challenge looks like it could represent how I feel.  Hmmmm she may be right!

Here is my card:

I used the adorable Angry Ballerina from Kraftin Kimmie.  I colored her with copics and I tried a new to me technique for the shadow ground.  I like the technique but I definitely will need to practice to get it to look how I would like it.  The paper is Basic grey and Stampin up.  The buttons are from hero arts and the twine is from the twinery.

This weeks challenge was a fun color inspiration challenge using this picture:
I love, love, love these colors together!!!  To see more awesome inspiration visit the challenge blog!

Thanks a bunch and ENJOY!

Whew...Caught up...

Hi!  I have a fun card to share with you today!  I used Whimsy Stamps-Kenny K-Cheers Dude, this line is carried at Loves Rubber Stamps.  I LOVE using this stamp for man cards because soooo many stamp sets out there are for little boys or older men and this one really can be used for that middle group.

The paper is stampin up and cosmo cricket and of course I colored with copics!  Hope you enjoy your week!
